I have been too preoccupied with work. And, for someone who’s been a pseudo-bum for a year and a half, a weekend getaway to wherever would definitely be welcome. So, when my friend, Angge, asked if I wanted to meet her in Cagayan de Oro for a three-day-two-night weekend getaway, I instantly said yes.
Our itinerary was simple (thanks to Angge’s colleague). I would take the first flight out of Manila to Cagayan de Oro. Pick Angge up on the way to Macabalan Port, where we would take the ferry to Benoni Port of Camiguin. Then, in Camiguin, spend our afternoon at the waterfalls and our evening at the hot springs. The following day, we would be visiting the White Island Sandbar, Old Vulcan and Walkway, Sunken Cemetery, Old Gui-ob Church Ruins, and end our tour at the Sto. Nino Cold Springs. After which, we’d pack our bags again and catch the last ferry back to CDO in the afternoon. In CDO, we had all the intentions of going white water rafting but both of us were feeling a bit under the weather. So, we thought we’d just bum around and experience the city or hang out in one of its coffee shops. And, that’s what we did. 🙂
The trip was very refreshing for me – a good break from the uber-busy sched I had before and what would welcome me when I get back to Manila, given that it’s my best friend’s wedding and we have an event the week after. So, despite what were going on in our lives and in my country, I knew that I had to do this. And, I’m glad I did. 🙂
Here are some of the pictures we took.
