Because we didn’t have a fixed itinerary, I asked Flaj what would be a good place to spend a couple of days at. She was still in law school then and had to be in class and prepare for her exams so Tin and I had to be on our own for a while. She suggested Caramoan Islands, which, according to her, is more beautiful than Boracay. Hmmm… we have to go there.
Flaj’s family drove us to Sabang Port where we could ride the ferry to Caramoan Islands.
It took about two and a half hours. And, I wanted to pee thirty minutes into the trip. Talk about torture! But, it was fine because the view was breathtaking.
After settling in at Rex Tourist Inn, where we were brought by the lady we met at the boat, Tin and I went for a walk around the town. We visited the Church of St. Michael the Archangel and said a prayer.
The following day, we headed to the port, where we could find boats that would bring us to the different islands of Caramoan.
I loved the boat ride and having had the opportunity to witness the beauty of the surrounding hills and waters.
It was as if we were the only ones visiting that time. The islands were deserted…
Except for these three other ladies.
Tin enjoyed taking shots while I enjoyed the waters of Caramoan.
I would have to agree with Flaj – Caramoan is better than Boracay, especially if you, like me, enjoy peace and tranquility and photography. I hope that it would be able to keep its beaches pristine. No to commercialization, please. 🙂
The following day, we set off to go back to Naga.
Flaj told me that getting to the land from the boat would be, in itself, an adventure. I didn’t believe what she was talking about until I had to experience it myself. Porters had to carry us so we wouldn’t get wet! Haha!
We waited for a while before Flaj and her family picked us up. We rested that evening and just had a couple of drinks. We had to recuperate because, in a couple of days, we’re up for a long drive back to Manila.
