While waiting for the sunset, best witnessed in Candi Prambanan, Angge, Kuya Anton, I made our way to Candi Sewu, a Buddhist temple built in the 8th century.
Angge was so excited to visit Cokelat Monggo, a shop where you can actually watch how chocolates were made. In real life. So, we stayed there for about an hour and also did our pasalubong shopping for our families and friends back home. Here’s Angge so happy. Like a kid!
If 2012 was about recreating myself and my life, 2013 was a year of taking things on. Despite and perhaps because of my commitment issues and fear of making mistakes, at the onset, I was intentional in making 2013 a banner year for my newly-recreated life. And, truth be told, I enjoyed every bit of it. :)
Our trip to the Sultan’s Palace was an interesting one. We got to learn about their culture and take a peek at the lives of the royal family in Java.
Because I was so exhausted and I felt like we already had a full day, I was already half-wishing that our next stop would be our hotel. But, Herman thought that it would be good for us to do a jeep trek in Mt. Merapi, which literally means Fire Mountain in Indonesian or Javanese. It is the most active volcano in Indonesia and its most recent biggest eruption happened in 2006. And, although I was surprised and I was sure that if I had told my loved ones that we were going to visit an active volcano, they would’ve given it to me, I was still grateful that Herman brought us there to experience the place.
